A chimney inspection is a thorough examination of your chimney system to assess its condition and ensure it operates safely and efficiently.

This process involves evaluating the structural integrity, identifying any potential issues, and checking for proper functionality.

Regular inspections are crucial for maintaining the safety and performance of your chimney and preventing costly repairs or hazardous situations.

We offer all three levels of chimney inspection:

LEVEL 1

A Level 1 inspection is the basic requirement for chimneys that are unchanged and continue to be used under the same conditions. During this inspection, our technician will assess the easily accessible parts of the chimney, including the exterior, interior, and any visible components of the chimney connection. The inspection will cover the chimney structure, flue, appliance installation, and connections, as well as check for any combustible deposits and obstructions.

LEVEL 2

A Level 2 inspection is necessary when there are changes to your system, such as alterations in fuel type, modifications to the flue’s materials or shape, or replacement of appliances. It is also required when buying, selling, or transferring property, or following a malfunction, fire, or severe weather event. This inspection includes all aspects of a Level 1 inspection and may also involve visual or video assessments to examine internal surfaces and flue liner joints. The technician will inspect accessible parts of the chimney as well as areas like attics, basements, and crawl spaces.

LEVEL 3

A Level 3 Inspection is necessary when there are concerns about hidden hazards. This inspection covers all aspects of Levels 1 and 2, but also involves accessing concealed areas of the chimney or flue. It uses specialized tools and may require removing or destroying some parts of the chimney or building, which could necessitate subsequent masonry repairs.
